Project Drawdown, Reversing Global Warming IS Possible

We know the prognosis: global warming threatens the delicate balance of all life on Earth, and must be addressed if humanity is to have a future on this planet.
Good news has finally arrived. And today, on Earth Day, an organization that I am a facilitator for, is excited to share with you a new offering for engaging in climate action. In April of last year, Project Drawdown, a ground-breaking study, demonstrated that it is possible not just to slow global warming, but to actually reverse it by 2050.
Project Drawdown is the most comprehensive plan ever proposed to reverse global warming.  Paul Hawken is Executive Director of Project Drawdown, a non-profit dedicated to researching when and how global warming can be reversed. Paul is one of the environmental movement’s leading voices, and a pioneering architect of corporate reform with respect to ecological practices.
Project Drawdown is a coalition of scholars, scientists, entrepreneurs, and advocates from across the globe that is mapping, measuring, modeling, and communicating about a collective array of substantive solutions to global warming, with the goal of reaching drawdown. Drawdown is the point in time when the concentration of atmospheric greenhouse gases begins to decline on a year-to-year basis.
What was uncovered is a path forward that can roll back global warming within thirty years. It shows that humanity has the means at hand. Nothing new needs to be invented. Project Drawdown maps, measures, models, and describes the 100 most substantive solutions to global warming. All solutions modeled are already in place, well understood, analyzed based on peer-reviewed science, and are expanding around the world.
Since August 2017, the Pachamama Alliance has been piloting a series of workshops as part of a new Drawdown Initiative that take these ground-breaking findings into communities across the world. These workshops support participants in finding their unique contribution to reversing global warming and provide a space for getting into action with a community of like-minded individuals. Since launching the pilot, there have been 75 Pachamama Alliance Drawdown Initiative events in 23 cities and 6 countries.
You Have a Role to Play
We all need to find our unique contribution to reversing global warming and getting into action. One thing you can do since this is Earth Day month, is take your toxic cleaning products to the toxic waste dump and switch over to Get Clean. Get Clean offers a full line of natural and nontoxic cleaning choices that are Safe for You, Your Home, and Your Planet®. They biodegrade into earth friendly elements with 7 to 30 days. No harmful fumes or hazardous chemicals. They outperform 20 national leading brands. You would spend $3400 for ready to use cleaners to get the same amount of clean found in the Get Clean Starter Kit*.
Project DrawdownAnd when you purchase the Get Clean Starter Kit you also make a positive impact on the planet:
  • Keep 108 pounds of packaging waste from landfills.
  • Eliminate 248 pounds of greenhouse gas.
  • This month a tree will be planed in your honor.
I am writing this on the actual Earth Day 2018 and I would love to have you join me in taking one small step to make a difference for our future generations. I changed my cleaning products over 25 years ago now. Also, if you want to know about the Drawdown activities in Toronto, please contact me.
To your good health.

Earth Day 2018, What Can You Do?

Earth Day originated out of a growing global ecological awareness back on April 22,1970. Now more than 1 billion people in 192 countries take part in what is the largest civic-focused day of action in the world.
It is a day of planting trees, or cleaning up neighbourhoods, or nature walks.

It’s a reminder that everyday is earth day.

This year the Earth Day Network announced that Earth Day 2018 will focus on mobilizing the world to End Plastic Pollution. The exponential growth of plastics is threatening our planet’s survival. The goals include ending single-use plastics, promoting alternatives to fossil fuel-based materials, promoting 100 percent recycling of plastics, corporate and government accountability and changing human behavior concerning plastics. EDN will educate millions of people about the health and other risks associated with the use and disposal of plastics. This includes the pollution of our oceans, water, and wildlife.
Everything is interconnected. So, our environment is really an extension of us. What we do to the planet, we do to ourselves.
As the Native Americans say, “We have not inherited the earth from our fathers. We are BORROWING it from our children.”

What you can do:

  • Don’t buy individually wrapped items.
  • Choose to reject, reduce, reuse and recycle plastics.
  • Buy products with less packaging.
  • Use your own reusable bags for every shopping trip.
  • Eat less animal products.
  • Eat more raw food items like salads.
  • Do not waste water.
  • Invest in a home water filter instead of buying and drinking bottled water.
  • Recycle.
  • Replace lights with energy-efficient bulbs.
  • Turn off lights when you’re not in the room.
  • Buy recycled paper.
  • Walk or ride your bike to work, school and anywhere you can.
  • Compost.
  • Boycott the use of pesticides on your property.
  • Start a small backyard vegetable garden.
  • Buy earth friendly cleaning products.
Earth Day
There are many things that we can do as we can make change when we vote with our pocketbook.
In honor of Earth Day, I will give out free samples of the earth friendly cleaning product to anyone who contacts me in April.
To your good health!

Spring Body Cleanse, Detoxify Your Body This Spring!

Spring is here and it’s a time of birth, growth and renewal. What is happening in nature is symbolic of what is happening in your own body. When your body is following the natural rhythm of the seasons. it wants to purge and cleanse itself of all the fat buildup and toxins it accumulated throughout the winter, so that you will you have more energy. When you look at health from an Oriental Medicine Five Element perspective you will see liver energy is dominant in spring. When you are in touch with the seasonal changes, spring is a great time to do a spring body cleanse.
Your liver is your main organ for detoxification. The largest and one of the most important internal organs, the liver must function for us to live. It is responsible for over 500 jobs, and it is the main organ associated with stress. Signs that your liver energy is congested include: unexplainable fatigue, depression, irritability or anger, mood swings, feeling overwhelmed by stress, PMS or hormonal imbalance, headaches, allergies, skin breakouts, nausea or vomiting, bloating, gas and sluggish digestion.
If your liver becomes overly congested with toxins, as often happens with our modern lifestyle, then it is important to do a spring body cleanse.
I invite you to join me in a spring body cleanse. It is quite easy to do while still working and only takes 7 days. You do have to prepare for it, but once you have all the produce and supplements, then it is quite straightforward. These are some of the benefits: It helps your body detoxify naturally, supports healthy digestion, helps jump-start weight loss, helps increase focus and energy, helps with hunger management, and helps improve sleep quality.
During the cleanse, in addition to taking my regular supplements, I will be including products that specifically support cleansing the body. These are: OptiFlora® probiotic which provides support for digestive health by delivering live healthy bacteria to the lower intestine; DTX® Complex which contains milk thistle and helps increase your liver’s ability to clean and detoxify your blood; Alfalfa Complex which acts as a blood cleanser; and Herb-Lax® which helps provide gentle relief for occasional periods of irregularity and cleanses the colon.
Here’s an overview of what the spring body cleanse looks like: For seven days, be prepared to eat raw veggies and fruit all day. Pack veggies and fruit for convenience when you are out. You can eat every 2 hours. Drink at least 6 to 10 glasses of water each day. In the evening, eat a salad with half an avocado and full-fat dressing.
During the week you get unlimited fresh veggies – raw, lightly steamed, or sautéed in 1–2 tablespoons of olive oil or coconut oil. You can also eat some low-sugar fruit and 1-2 servings of specified protein. It is all laid out in a program which I can send to you. Everything you can eat and what to avoid.
Spring Body Cleanse
So, if you are feeling stressed, feeling low in energy, or having digestive challenges, this is an excellent time for a cleanse.
I would love to support you while we do the spring body cleanse together. I have set up a private Facebook group for extra support. Contact me to learn how we all can feel healthier in 7 days.

To your good health,

A Tribute to Chris O’Connor

It is with a heavy heart I write this blog to honor a friend.  This last week I learned that my friend Chris O’Connor had taken his life. Chris’s focus had always been on improving the quality of life for his clients. He gave wholeheartedly and everyone loved him, so learning of his death has been quite a shock for everyone. Chris and I had attended the same massage college years before and became friends at the Matrixx put on by Bob Proctor and Sandy Gallagher. We worked together for a few years and shared many of the same interests.  During that time he shared this fable which he gave me permission to share in my latest book, The 30 Laws of Flow.
“In case you are not familiar with Fruit Loops, they are a cereal in North America. So, the story begins inside a cereal box. There are Fruit Loops residing inside the cereal box but because they are inside the box they don’t even know that they are Fruit Loops. It’s dark, they are all crowded in and they can’t even conceive of a world existing outside because all they see is the inside of the box.
One day one of the Fruit Loops escapes and leaves the inside of the box. The Fruit Loop discovers this magical outside world. The escapee realizes that he has been living inside this box that is beautifully decorated on the outside. The writing on the outside of the box tells the Fruit Loop “what” he is…a Fruit Loop. The Fruit Loop then discovers his “worth” through the nutritional information on the side of the box! It turns out that if you add this thing called M-I-L-K, the Fruit Loops become even MORE nutritious when mixed together!
Upon further exploration the Fruit Loop discovers on the back of this container there are wonderful puzzles and games to be solved. And beyond this small box lies an incredibly huge and infinite space that those inside could never comprehend.
It would be impossible for the Fruit Loop to try and explain what he is experiencing to the others still inside but he decides to return and try. But this lone Fruit Loop discovers to his amazement, the others who are still trapped inside the box don’t even want to hear about this fantastical world. They don’t even want to know or even care! They just want the lid closed and to get back to life inside the box as usual.
This lone Fruit Loop was so enthralled with this outer world of new possibilities he decides to go back out and see if he can find other Fruit Loops who have escaped the old ways/paradigm of “inside the box mentality”. He knew that he would need support to not get sucked back into the old “inside the box thinking”.
The moral of the story is…….sometimes it is hard to break from the “inside the box” mindset, and it is even more difficult to convince those still trapped that things can be so much better.  The best thing to do is find the other Fruit Loops who get it…. who have had the experience of greater possibility……who can share in the enthusiasm of this new way of thinking and are ready to explore new worlds.”
Chris gave so much to many people over the years and he will be greatly missed. We never know what is really going inside another person’s mind, we only see the outer actions and outer personality traits. I think I had the same feeling when comedian Robin Williams took his life.  We see these wonderful people giving so much to the world but inside there is another conversation going on that we can’t see.
So, the message today is to love everyone unconditionally as you never know what battle they are facing internally. Also, encourage people who give so much to the world to take some inner time for themselves.
In Chris’s words, here’s to “life’s mysterious unfolding.”
